One of our campaigns
Tony Aly owns and pays for Abolish the Islands Trust. It is a Wake Up Canada campaign. Its own site holds the detailed case, sources and petition.
Each needed job needs a home
We want local land-use planning moved to regional districts or towns that choose to form a local government. But that is not the whole plan. Every useful Trust job needs a clear new home and a budget.
Protect nature and rights through the change. Plan for shared work, records, property, debts and staff. Keep plans, bylaws and safeguards legally in place during the handover.
The fact that BC has laws to protect nature does not prove that every Trust job is done twice. We must complete that case, job by job.
Becoming a town is a separate choice
An island can seek a study of forming its own local government while the wider debate goes on. Becoming a town does not by itself remove an island from the Trust. The petitions ask different things. Signing one does not sign the other.

Tony owns land on Denman Island. Camp Denman has an open dispute with the Trust about its use. That matters to this case.
