A safety mark is not the whole rule.

Separate the testing firm, the safety standard and the right to place a home.

Updated:

This note does not approve a product or estimate savings. The exact model, mark and place still need to be checked.

More than one mark can count

Canada does not require the CSA brand alone for every electrical product. Canadian marks from other approved testing bodies can count too. A US-only mark is not the same as proof for Canada.

A whole home has more gates

A wiring label does not settle the building rules or zoning. A factory check does not grant a right to live on a chosen lot. Test each step on its own.

Price the extra work

Our ask is to accept trusted US proof where it meets the same need. First compare the same product, its tests and its site needs. Count only the extra cost a reform could remove. Keep useful safety checks.
